Beautiful Fall Family Photos at Lake Fenwick Park
Lake Fenwick Park is a beautiful location for outdoor family portraits in Kent, especially during the fall.
The park offers a wonderful combination of colorful trees, peaceful lake views, wooded surroundings, and natural textures that make each photograph feel warm and inviting.
Last fall, I had the opportunity to photograph several families at Lake Fenwick Park, and I loved how much variety we could create in one location.
From families cuddling together on a blanket surrounded by autumn leaves to playful moments between parents and children, each session brought something different.
The changing foliage and reflections on the lake provided beautiful seasonal backgrounds, while the families' personalities made every gallery unique.

What to Wear for Fall Family Photos
Choosing the right outfits can help your family portraits complement the beautiful autumn scenery.
Some of my favorite colors for fall photography include:
- Cream, beige, and warm neutrals
- Rust, terracotta, and burnt orange
- Olive green and forest green
- Mustard yellow and warm brown
- Burgundy and deep red
- Denim and soft earth tones
I recommend choosing coordinating colors rather than having everyone wear identical outfits.
Mixing textures, such as sweaters, denim, and cozy layers, can add depth and interest to your photographs without distracting from your family.
Because November weather in Washington can be chilly, consider comfortable layers and shoes that work well for walking through the park.
Most importantly, choose outfits that allow everyone to feel comfortable and move naturally.
