(Updated for Spring 2026 – These beloved Motherhood Minis will be returning soon! If you’d like to be first to know when bookings open, join my newsletter or follow on Instagram @rochelle.mariephotography.)
There’s nothing more meaningful than the bond between a mother and her child. This spring, I hosted Mommy and Me Mini Sessions in a peaceful forested park near Des Moines, surrounded by tall evergreens, soft light, and a charming floral tent setup that made every moment feel magical.
These sessions celebrated love, laughter, and connection, the kind of moments that remind moms how beautiful this chapter truly is.
🌷 The Session Setting
Each session took place by the lake, framed by lush trees and filtered light. The centerpiece was a cozy white teepee adorned with flower vines, creating a warm, storybook atmosphere perfect for snuggles and smiles.
From shared laughter to quiet hugs, every mom brought her own unique story, and that’s what I love most about motherhood photography.

🌼 Can I Bring All My Children?
Absolutely! These sessions are for all moms, whether you’re expecting, celebrating your first Mother’s Day, or wrangling a whole crew of little ones. The goal is to capture your unique connection, however it looks.
📸 Client Favorite Moments
Every session had its own magic:
- A little girl twirling in her pink dress beside her mom
- A mother cuddling her toddler and laughing in the tent
- The sweetest siblings giggling under the floral canopy
Each photo told a different story of motherhood, tender, joyful, and full of love.
